Emperia, Inc ( Since 1989)

Founded in 1989 by Ben Stephens, Susie Severson, Greg Hughes, Dan Schlichting and Karl Hurowitz.

Emperia started,  because in the mid 80’s there was a distinct lack of  unique mouldings being offered by the moulding distributors to the picture framing trade.  Colors and profiles during that period of time were mundane.

We did not necessarily set out to change the industry, but we were determined to offer unique style, unique color, high quality and unusual profiles all of which would prove to be highly accepted by the picture framing trade and their customers.  Price was and still is our last consideration when purchasing mouldings from the manufacturers.

Style, quality, color and profile make Emperia unique in the picture framing world.

Emperia distributes only picture framing mouldings.  We do not sell matboard, glass or any of the other supplies used in the picture framing industry.  We concentrate solely on framing moulding.

Almost all of our moulding is manufactured in Germany, Spain and Italy.   We feel that we are honored to be purchasing moulding from probably the finest manufacturers in the world. 

Emperia only sells to the picture framing trade and related industries, I.E., Photography Studios, Art Supply Stores etc.
